Position Purpose

Inventory Control Specialist is hands-on and has experience with various inventory related functions.  As a key contributor with ownership in auditing and maintaining inventory controls, this role is responsible for maintain optimal stock levels through ensuring daily transactions with the ERP System accurate.  Daily work assignments will include cycle counts, bin audits receipt of inbound materials, research and review for discrepancies, adjustments, all related NCP processing, reporting and maintaining the integrity of inventory storage locations always.  Provides training to others and ensures back-up coverage when out of the building.

Essential Functions & Principal Accountabilities

 
  • Monitor Bin Accuracy and Stock Levels – Ensure inventory levels are accurate and maintained within the right bin locations.
  • Perform Cycle Counts & Physical Inventory – Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and assist in annual physical inventory audits.
  • Track Inventory Movements – Record stock transfers, put-aways, and adjustments in the inventory system to maintain real-time accuracy.
  • Resolve Inventory Discrepancies – Investigate and correct variances between system records and actual stock by coordinating with the leadership team.
  • Generate Inventory Reports – Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports, including stock levels, and variance reports.
  • Ensure Data Integrity – Regularly update and verify inventory records in the ERP or warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Work with Warehouse & Operations Teams – Communicate inventory needs, discrepancies, and operational challenges with warehouse staff and supervisors.
  • Assist in Audits & Compliance – Provide documentation and explanations during internal and external inventory audits.
  • Enhance Inventory Management Procedures – Recommend and implement best practices to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Optimize Warehouse Layout – Work with warehouse managers to ensure the best stock arrangement for efficiency and safety.
  • Train Staff on Inventory Procedures – Educate warehouse and production personnel on inventory handling, barcode scanning, and system updates.
  • Ensure Compliance with Policies & Regulations – Maintain adherence to company inventory policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Meet productivity and accuracy goals.
  • Performs other duties/projects as assigned including various warehouse tasks and functions as needed.
Education Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years relevant Inventory Experience

Essential Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, including but not limited to, using a 10-key or calculator, bending or squatting.
